Charmaine So

As well as a seasoned home chef, a host of private dinners and a catering chef, Charmaine is also the F&B director of Moving Concepts, a social enterprise she helped found. She is in charge of designing dinner menus for guests and is the main cook at all events. Charmaine is also a cooking instructor, where she demonstrates simple and delicious dishes in weekly videos, demonstrating how easy it is to prepare western cuisine at home, and how entertaining guests need not be daunting.

Raised in Vancouver, Charmaine has a laid-back lifestyle. She developed her passion for cooking while hosting house parties for her family and friends throughout her high-school and university years. Charmaine is always in search of new food and wine ideas. She lived in Shanghai for a year, and has travelled to France and Spain to learn about the local cultures and cuisines. “It is a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together,” she says.
